This Pathological laboratory was the brainchild of Late Dr. Manoj Chandra Paul. MBBS , MD (R.U). He started this Laboratory in 1980 in his own house but he actually established the diagnostic lab under the name of Dr. Paul's Pathological Laboratory in the town of Giridih in the year 1981 at Chandouri Road , Giridih, Jharkhand.

Unfortunately because of his sad demise on 1st Jan' 1986 his dreams of continuing to work on his dream project received a big jolt. Mrs Swapna Paul w/o the late founder followed his dreams and made his dreams a reality.

Mrs Swapna Paul, deserves all the accolades as she actually nurtured his dream project since the last 25 years.

Making the Best Better

DPPL's mission is to continually improve patient care by building professional relationships through excellence in laboratory testing, service, education, and research.

G e n e r a l    I n f o r m a t i o n

DPPL offers a broad test menu of many tests and test combinations DPPL's focus is to provide testing that supplements the testing available in local area. DPPL does not market to physician offices directly , and thus, does not compete with its clients. Services are provided to several clients throughout India . Clients include, independent hospital groups, reference laboratories, Central government facilities, and to patients directly.

REFERRAL TESTING

One of DPPL Laboratories' service goals is to support clients by providing comprehensive service for all reference laboratory testing. To accomplish this goal, DPPL has enhanced its in-house test menu of several tests and test combinations by selecting primary vendor to perform additional tests not performed at DPPL.

Primary vendor (Ashok Laboratory 390-B, Jodhpur Park, Kolkata) was selected considering the aspects of service, quality, reliability, turnaround time (TAT), and price

Be Smart About Your Heart: Control the ABCs of Diabetes
If you’re one of the nearly 50 million Indians with diabetes,
you are at high risk for heart attack and stroke. Heart disease is
more likely to strike you—and at an earlier age—than it is to
strike your friends and family without diabetes. In fact, heart disease and stroke account for
about 65% of deaths in people with diabetes.

But you can fight back. You have the power to prevent heart attack and stroke by controlling the
    ABCs of diabetes.

A is for A1C. The A1C test measures your average blood sugar over the
    last 3 months.

B is for blood pressure. High blood pressure makes your heart work too hard.

C is for cholesterol. Bad cholesterol, or LDL, builds up and clogs your arteries.

    Ask your Doctor these questions:

What are my ABC numbers? Your A1C level should be tested at least twice a year.
Blood pressure should be checked at each visit and cholesterol should be tested at
    least once a year.

What should my ABC target numbers be? For most people with diabetes, the goals
are A1C below 7, blood pressure below 130/80, and LDL cholesterol below 100.

What actions should I take to reach my ABC target numbers? You and your health
care provider should put together an action plan of lifestyle changes and medications,
if needed, to help you reach and maintain your goals for the ABCs of diabetes.
    Take Action Now.

You can take action now to lower your risk for heart attack and stroke and other diabetes
problems. Work with your Doctor, and get started now

Get at least 60 minutes of physical activity, such as brisk walking, most days of the
    week.

    Eat less fat and salt.

Eat more fiber—choose whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans.

    Stay at a healthy weight.

Stop smoking—ask your health care provider for help.

    Take medicines as prescribed.

Ask your health care provider about taking aspirin.

Ask others to help you manage your diabetes.

     Quality Control
Quality Control in the medical laboratory is a statistical process used to monitor and evaluate the analytical process which produces patient results. The Statistical process requires :
    * regular testing of quality control products along with patient samples
    * comparision of quality control results to specific statistical limits

We, at Dr. Paul's Pathological Laboratory, Giridih, adhere to the protocols of good clinical diagnostic laboratory practice and, we use internal as well as third party external quality controls to keep our diagnostic testing in check.

Liver Enzyme tests namely SGPT, SGOT is done by UV-Kinetic method. Recommended by IFCC (International federation of Clinical chemistry)
